Next WikiLeaks release to highlight corruption among world leaders and governments

The Obama administration on Wednesday warned that the next release of documents from whistleblower Web site WikiLeaks could damage relations between the US and foreign governments. Now, a report from Reuters offers an explanation as to why that may be.

According to “sources familiar with the State Department cables held by WikiLeaks,” the imminent document dump will include reports from US diplomats on corruption within foreign governments and among world leaders. Reuters reports that governments in Europe and Asia feature prominently in the document release, with Russia and Afghanistan being mentioned by name.

Three sources familiar with the State Department cables held by WikiLeaks say the corruption allegations in them are major enough to cause serious embarrassment for foreign governments and politicians named in them.

The Obama administration said Wednesday it has alerted Congress and begun notifying foreign governments that the WikiLeaks website is preparing to release sensitive U.S. diplomatic files that could damage U.S. relations with friends and allies across the globe.

  1. APPARENTLY THIS PERSON OR PERSONS THAT ARE COLLECTING AND DUMPING THIS CLASSIFIED INTELLIGENCE ON THE INTERNET HAVE A PRESS SECURITY CLEARANCE AND CAN SUCCESSFULLY OPEN CLASSIFIED FILES WITH IMPUNITY AND ARE EITHER COPYING OR EMAILING THESE FILES TO A HIDDEN PLACE OR PERSON THAT IS COLLECTING THESE TO COMPROMISE OUR NATIONAL SECURITY BECAUSE THEY HAVE TAKEN A PERSONAL ATTITUDE TO MAKE THE U.S. AND OUR ALLIES PAY FOR THEIR FEELINGS AND EMOTIONAL COMFORTZONE TO CONTINUE. THAT ISHSOMETHING TO DO WITH A DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE OR A FORMER MEMBER OF THE GOVERNMENT WITH ACCESS TO POLITICAL PAPERWORK AS WELL AS ALL THE PRESENT STATUS ON OUR NATIONAL SECURITY.

    • The material appaers to have originated from Bradley Manning, a 22-year old Army private, who believed he saw war crimes being committed by the U.S. military and shared the information so the American public could know what the armed forces were doing. The most famous leak from Manning showed an Apache Helicopter attack by the U.S. military killing a dozen civilians and wounding two children.

Manning allegedly leaked hundreds of thousands of diplomatic cables and emails that have since been published. He said that the documents showed horrible “crimes” and his goal in releasing them was to “hopefully [spark] worldwide discussion, debates, and reforms, if not . . . we’re doomed as a species.” His goal was for “people to see the truth… regardless of who they are… because without information, you cannot make informed decisions as a public.”

  2. I AM WONDERING NOW IF THIS PERSON WAS OR IS MENTALY STABLE OF A CONSPIRATOR AND IF SO WILL THE U.S. GOVERNMENT ADDRESS THIS WITH A RECOVERY PROGRAM FOR INTELLIGENT DIALOG IN PRIVATE WITH OUR ALLIES AND HOLD THE PERSON ACCOUTABLE FOR HIS CRIME. THIS IS APPARENTLY NOT SOMETHING A MILITARY PRIVATE WOULD NORMALY HAVE ACCESS TO WITHOUT SUPERVISION AND WOULD SURELY HAVE TO HAVE A SECURITY CLEARANCE IF THIS WAS POSSIBLE.
