The attempt to rape Julian Assange and WikiLeaks

WikiLeaks’ release of 250,000 United States embassy cables certainly reveals the US government’s view of the world. And it is clear that they are not taking it laying down:

Australian lawyer James D. Catlin , writes:
“Apparently having consensual sex in Sweden without a condom is punishable by a term of imprisonment of a minimum of two years for rape. That is the basis for a reinstitution of rape charges against WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange that is destined to make Sweden and its justice system the laughing stock of the world and dramatically damage its reputation as a model of modernity.

“Sweden’s Public Prosecutor’s Office was embarrassed in August this year when it leaked to the media that it was seeking to arrest Assange for rape, then on the same day withdrew the arrest warrant because in its own words there was “no evidence”. The damage to Assange’s reputation is incalculable. More than three quarters of internet references to his name refer to rape.”

And despite accusations that Julian Assange is on the run, The Independent reports that Scotland Yard has been in contact with Assange’s legal team for more than a month but is waiting for further instruction before arresting him.

Assange supplied the Metropolitan Police with contact details upon arriving in the UK in October. Police sources confirmed that they have a telephone number for Mr Assange and are fully aware of where he is staying.

Britain’s Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) has received the so-called “red notice” – an international arrest warrant – but has so far refused to authorize the arrest of Mr Assange.

  1. What better way to discredit someone than to accuse them of rape. You’re absolutely right, if you google Julian’s name, more often than not it is associated with rape. What a complete and total miscarriage of justice. The Swedidiot Authorities should be ashamed.
